Gutter guards in Christiansburg, Virginia
Gutter guards, repairs and new gutters for Christiansburg homes, from the old streets near Main Street to newer neighborhoods off I-81 and US 460.
Christiansburg has been the Montgomery County seat since 1792 and had 23,348 residents at the 2020 census. It sits even a little higher than its northern neighbor Blacksburg, at about 2,133 feet, right on the Eastern Continental Divide, where I-81, US 460 and US 11 meet. The old railroad town of Cambria, which grew up around a depot on the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad in 1854, merged into Christiansburg at the end of 1965.
What gutter problems show up in Christiansburg?
The older parts of town, around downtown and the former Cambria, have mature shade trees and houses with many coats of paint on their trim. When gutters overflow there for years, the fascia behind them rots and the hangers let go. Many of the newer subdivisions on the edges of town were built with standard 5-inch gutters and the minimum number of downspouts, which can struggle at valley corners in summer thunderstorms and under spring snowmelt.

Who handles permits?
